Orientation and mobility training is not a “one size fits all” situation. Aside from personal differences in starting skill level and learning style, there are also age related differences.

Everyone has different travel needs. Each program is individualised to provide you with the skills and equipment ( if needed) to move around safely and independently.

Depending on your needs, training may include the following examples.

Orientation and mobility training is not a “one size fits all” situation. Aside from personal differences in starting skill level and learning style, there are also age related differences. Children’s O&M tends to be developmental, with a focus on play and routines based learning to develop body and spatial concepts, environmental concepts, and use of senses to gain information about the world. 

Adult O&M programs often have specific goals such as use of public transport following vision loss, navigating your community, or learning the route to a new workplace.

Whatever you life stage and training needs are, a personalised program will be tailored to your needs.
